written April 20, 2010: ZBOOK 4EVER launch
In the spring of 1996, at the University of California- Santa Barbara, two young artists found each other during the prime of their creative exploration. Jennifer and Ceci discovered at once that their ideas and inspirations were woven together like a fabric of dancing synapses. Both young women had grown up without siblings, both had grown up making art and play out of what ever they found, and both had cultivated a love for finding possibility in everything and everyone. They would share their journals, drawings and stories and continually rejoice in the mystifying connection of their creative drives. They would muse over dreams and questions and experiments. They would be infused with a sense that together they could make any vision a reality. And so, they would decide to create a place to collect and brew the words and images of their ideas, dreams and schemes; a journal to share, a book to pass back and forth like notes in class. What a joy, this class, this playground called life.

We call it ZBOOK.  After we graduated we both embarked individually on many worldly adventures and resting places.   During these travels we would exchange ZBOOK via the post- this went on for well over a decade.  We are now both at last on the same terrain of Los Angeles, where we have enjoyed hand to hand exchanges once again and even playing/creating in ZBOOK at the same time.  ZBOOK now wants to go out play with the world.  And so we are honored to share with you, through Zblog, the culmination of 14 years of kindred friendship, remarkably cultivated collaboration, and divine Trust: ZBOOK.
